Terms of Service

The rules for using Outstanding Tiny Desk, buying credit packs, uploading photos of people or pets and sharing the AI parody videos you make.

Agreement

These Terms govern your use of Outstanding Tiny Desk (outstanding-tiny-desk.org), operated by TOOLVERSE LTD ("we", "us"). By using the site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old to use Outstanding Tiny Desk.

Your account

You sign in with your Google account. Keep it secure: you are responsible for everything done through your account. To close your account, email support@outstanding-tiny-desk.org and we will delete it.

Credits and payments

  • Videos are paid for with credits from one-time credit packs. There is no subscription and no free trial.
  • Prices are shown in US dollars before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe.
  • Credits do not expire, are not cash, and cannot be transferred or exchanged for money.
  • Each studio option shows its price in credits before you generate.
  • When a generation is confirmed as failed, the credits it reserved return to your balance automatically. A video that finishes but is not to your taste is not a failed generation.
  • Credit packs are not refundable once the credits are in your balance, except where the law requires a refund or we charged you by mistake, for example a duplicate charge. If you think a charge is wrong, email us.

Your photos

You keep all rights in the photos you upload. You give us permission to store your photos, send them to our AI video provider and process them, only to make the videos you ask for and to run the service. We do not publish your photos, use them in marketing or use them to train AI models.

Upload only photos you took or have permission to use. Every person in a photo must be 18 or older and must have agreed to appear in the video. Do not upload photos of children, of celebrities or other public figures, or of anyone who has not agreed.

Your videos

We do not claim ownership of the videos you make. You may download, keep and share them, as long as you follow these Terms and respect the rights of others. Your videos stay private to your account until you share them yourself.

AI results vary. A video may not reproduce every detail of the people or pets in your photos, and the same photos and settings can give different results.

AI parody, NPR and the song

Every video made with Outstanding Tiny Desk is an AI-generated parody. When you share a video, make clear that it is AI-generated. Outstanding Tiny Desk is an independent fan-made service and is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by NPR, the Tiny Desk series, Charlie Wilson, The Gap Band, TikTok, or any team or league.

The template your cast is edited into comes from a performance that belongs to its owners, and every video keeps that performance's recording of "Outstanding", which belongs to its rights holders. Use your videos only for personal, non-commercial posts: not in ads, sponsored posts or anything you sell. Apps may mute the sound or remove a post because of the music; that is between you and the app.

What you must not do

  • Break any law or regulation, or help someone else do so
  • Upload photos you do not have the right to use, photos of minors, or photos of anyone without their consent
  • Make videos that are sexual, hateful or harassing, or that put a real person in a video they did not agree to
  • Present a generated video as real footage, or use it to impersonate, mislead or harass anyone
  • Suggest that NPR, Charlie Wilson, The Gap Band or anyone else endorses your video
  • Try to get unauthorized access to our systems, overload them, or scrape or resell the service
  • Use the service to spread malware or other harmful code

Our content

The site and its design belong to us or our licensors. You may use them only through the service.

Reporting a problem

If you believe a video made here, or anything on the site, infringes your rights or shows you without your consent, email us with the details and we will review it promptly.

Suspension and closing accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms or puts the service or other people at risk. If we close your account for any other reason, we will refund the unused credits you paid for.

Availability and disclaimer

We work to keep the service running, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". We cannot guarantee that it will always be available or error-free, or that the AI provider we rely on will always be online.

Limitation of liability

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will update this page and the date at the top, and we will announce significant changes on the site before they apply. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the new Terms.
